Swarnalata Sahoo, affectionately known as Swarna, was a quiet and gentle presence in our college days. Hailing from Bhanjanagar, near Berhampur, she carried herself with a shy and dignified demeanour.
Swarna was known for her soft-spoken nature. She rarely engaged in conversations with the male members of our batch, maintaining a respectful distance. However, her beautiful, smiling face always conveyed a sense of warmth and kindness. She possessed a natural grace that was truly endearing.

Hailing from Baramunda, Bhubaneswar, Swayambikash, fondly known as Tiny, a bright Physics honours graduate from Basic Science College, seamlessly integrated into the Super 29 of the MCA'97 batch, becoming an endearing presence whose jovial spirit and infectious, signature loud laugh made him a truly unique individual.
Despite being a local, Tiny's heart often resided in the vibrant atmosphere of Hostel #3 after college hours, and his trusty LUNA motorcycle became a cherished shared resource, frequently assisting friends with their errands. A true character emerged during examination periods, where Tiny's frantic room-to-room quest for notes and adorably tense expression became a familiar sight.
Beyond academics, Tiny generously hosted numerous lively parties and fun gatherings at his Baramunda home, warmly welcoming many. A devoted friend always ready to lend a hand, Tiny's passions extended to cricket and a forward-thinking pursuit of learning Japanese for his career, a dedication that led to his campus selection by TCS, where he even earned the playful nickname "Borderline" during his Japanese language studies. Commencing his professional journey with TCS in Mumbai, before established himself in the USA for over 21 years.
Tiny, now settled in Boston with his wife, Sapna, and their children, Anish and Anshika, remains a beloved friend who consistently bridges distances with his energetic and joyful phone calls, a testament to his enduring connections.
It's a pleasure to reminisce about our MCA'97 days, and particularly about Y. Bharathi. She was a vibrant presence in our class, a unique blend of artistic talent and quiet determination.
Bharathi hailed from Rourkela, bringing with her a touch of Telugu culture that enriched our diverse group. Her artistic inclinations were evident from the start. She possessed a genuine talent for painting, often capturing moments and emotions on canvas with a delicate touch. I remember her work being filled with a subtle beauty, reflecting her thoughtful nature.
Physically, she had a striking resemblance to Janet Jackson, with beautiful, naturally curly hair that framed her face. This added to her distinctive and memorable appearance.
After completing her MCA, Bharathi made her way to Bangalore, a hub for the burgeoning IT industry. She successfully transitioned into the corporate world, building a career in an IT company.
Bharathi's presence in MCA'97 was one of quiet strength and creativity. It's wonderful to know she found success in Bangalore.
